The Aurora Energy Working Group proved very successful in addressing concerns specific to the Aurora area within the WCS region.
A community appreciation BBQ was held in June. Approximately 80 people from the community and oil and gas companies operating in the area attended.
Dust suppression was applied to address safety and quality of life concerns on a specific stretch of road.
A follow up meeting was held fall of 2013 to assess the overall success of the project and ensure there are no outstanding issues in the community.
West Central Stakeholders has received an Award of Excellence at the Synergy Alberta conference for the second year in a row.
At the 2015 Synergy conference, WCS was recognized for our newsletter "Across the Fence", a publication that goes out 2 - 4 times a year and contains snippets of local oil & gas information, member profiles, and contact info for coming events.
In 2016, WCS received the award once again, this time for our "Clubroot Connection" information session targeted to providing local industry companies with information on how to recognize and limit their potential for spreading clubroot in central Alberta.
